Government Negligence Attorneys in Air Force Academy

The Air Force Academy personal injury attorneys of Travis Law Group are skilled at seeking compensation for clients injured by persons acting on behalf of government entities. The harm may be caused by intentional action by a government agency or may result from the performance or the failure to perform an official function. In such cases, the government may be held responsible for the injured person’s loss and be required to provide compensation for the damages suffered.

Our experienced Air Force Academy personal injury attorneys can help you recover against a municipality, city, state, or the federal government. Common government negligence cases include:

  • Police misconduct
  • Accidents caused by failure to maintain (signs, buildings, roads, etc.)
  • Accidents involving a governmental vehicle
  • Injuries to children at school (bus accident, unsafe playground, etc.)
  • Injuries in a military medical facility

We can help you recover just compensation under the Federal Tort Claims Act.

The Federal Tort Claims Act is a federal law that allows an injured person to bring a claim against the US government. Typically, the federal government is immune from injury claims under the sovereign immunity, but when government employees are negligent or otherwise commit misconduct within the scope of their employment, The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) is an exception to this immunity. While claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act usually involve the United States Armed Forces, they can also involve administrative and law enforcement agencies. For example, the Federal Torts Claim Act would be applicable to situations in which a federal agency or employee is the responsible party in an auto accident, slip and fall accident, or medical malpractice. Regardless of the government entity at fault, the government negligence attorneys of Travis Law Group have the experience you need to obtain recovery.

We help you avoid the procedural and administrative pitfalls.

The administrative process involved in actions against government entities is unique to these types of personal injury cases. Therefore, in order to avoid compromising the chances for maximum recovery, it is essential to comply with all of the applicable requirements. If working with a Air Force Academy personal injury attorney from Travis Law Group, you can rest assured that we have the experience and know-how to steer clear of any administrative pitfalls.

More info about Air Force Academy

Established in April 1954, the United States Air Force Academy occupies 18,000 acres on the north end of Colorado Springs. It serves as an air force base and undergraduate college for officer candidates. The academy currently enrolls 4,000 cadets as undergraduates, employs 723 faculty members, and serves a community of about 25,000. Military members account for about 470, or 65 percent, of the faculty. Those not directly involved in undergraduate operations include active-duty airmen and women as well as medical, security, fire response, and family care personnel. In addition to cadets, faculty, and staff, the academy welcomes tourists at the Barry Goldwater Visitor Center.

The academy’s sports teams are known as the Air Force Falcons and compete in the Mountain West Division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). During its fiftieth anniversary in 2004, the academy received national historic landmark status. The United States Post Office issued a commemorative stamp, and a historic plaque was installed on the base to honor the designation.
